Sales Consultant

The Miller Auto Team is seeking a positive, ambitious, friendly salesperson to add to our team! As one of the oldest dealerships in Broome County, the Miller Auto Team has been providing our customers from Vestal, Binghamton, Elmira and Ithaca, NY with top quality service since 1945.

No prior experience or training is required to apply for this position! We are looking for individuals with a willingness to provide an excellent sales experience to our customers, learn about our exceptional inventory, and be part of our outstanding sales team.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service.

  • Approach, greet, and offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.

  • Assists customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.

  • Consistently improving knowledge of new products, features, accessories, etc.

  • Sell and deliver a minimum number of vehicles per month.

  • Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business.

  • Ensure that the sales manager has an opportunity to meet each customer.

  • Maintain a professional and friendly appearance and demeanor.

Body Technician

The Miller Auto Team is seeking two Auto Body Technicians for Miller's Body Shop!


Repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.

Essential Duties

* Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.

* Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.

* Prepares vehicles for body repair work.

* Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.

* Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.

* Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.

* Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.

* Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.

* Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.

* Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.

* Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

* Other tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Automotive Technician

The Miller Auto Team is a long standing, high volume multi-franchise dealership looking to add on to our Automotive Technician Team. This is an A, B, C, or D level technician position and a great way to start or continue your career at Miller Auto Team. Starting day 1 you will begin a comprehensive mechanic training program through our manufacturers, covering all aspects of your new role. As a A, B, C, or D level Technician, you will be an essential team member, performing maintenance services medium repair, and warranty repair on Guest vehicles. More importantly, you will be part of a team working together to deliver outstanding customer experiences, while using your Technician skills to take care of people, their cars and ensure our customers have safe, reliable transportation.

Responsibilities for Automotive Technician

  • Technician will cater to the specific needs of each repair order efficiently and accurately. This must be done within both dealership and factory requirements.

  • The ideal technician candidate must be able to diagnose malfunctions, as well as perform the necessary repairs for them.

  • Technician will perform vehicle repairs within their current capability/skill level.

  • In depth examination of any vehicle under current supervision, to determine if any safety or service work is needed or recommended.

  • Clearly documents and records work that is performed on the repair order under his/her supervision.

  • Effectively communicate with the designated service manager or advisor when the above adjustments and additional work is needed.

  • Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician / service manager.

  • Ability to perform any additional related duties as required and assigned by service manager.

Qualifications or Requirements for Automotive Technician

  • A valid driver's license

  • High school diploma / Industry certification equivalent required

  • Technician must have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in the use of common mechanic shop tools

  • Ability to bend, move, lift and physically perform duties in the scope of this position.

  • Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check, DMV screen, and drug screen

  • 1-3 years' experience as automotive mechanic

Lot Attendant

The Miller Auto Team has several openings for full time lot attendants. We are looking for hardworking, reliable, and friendly people to join our team!

Must have a clean drivers license and be able to pass a drug test. 

Will be detailing and transporting vehicles, parking customer vehicles, snow removal, etc.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds, some manual labor required.

Must have outgoing personality as you may also be greeting customers and directing them where to go in the dealership. 

We are a drug free workplace with random drug testing.

Service Advisor

Automotive service advisors greet customers, listen to their description of the problems or service needed, determine the type of service required and prepare repair orders. If a vehicle requires additional repairs not covered in the original order, they estimate the additional cost and telephone the customer for permission to do the work. They also advise customers on other available services.

Essential Duties

• Advises customers about necessary service for routine maintenance.

• Helps identify a mechanical problem by questioning the customer or doing a visual inspection or road test.

• Confers with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures and prepare work order for needed repairs.

• Prepares a repair order showing time, cost and labor estimates for service.

• Writes a brief description of the customer's concern on the repair order to help the technician locate the problem.

• Explains the work performed and the repair order charges to the customer.

• Handles customer complaints.

• Schedules service appointments.

• Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.

• Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.

• Test drives the vehicle with customer as needed to confirm the problem or refer to test technician.

• Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.

• Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.

• Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.

• Establishes "promised time." Checks with dispatcher, if necessary.

• Obtains customer's signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy.

• Establishes customer's method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary.

• Notifies dispatcher of incoming work.

• Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.

• Implements and maintains a service marketing program.

• Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Closes repair order as appropriate.

• Ensures that vehicles are parked in assigned areas. Makes sure they are locked and all keys are marked and put away correctly.

• Keeps service department forms, menus and pricing guides up-to-date.

• Implements a quality control process to eliminate comebacks.

• Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.

• Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.

• Inspects all vehicles for body work, informs customer if work is needed and provides an estimate for body work.

• Maintains a professional appearance.

• Keeps work area clean.
